The UNDP Debris Management and DRRM Support Project aims to facilitate the early recovery of communities in at least 50 barangays affected by Typhoon Bopha in Davao Oriental & Compostela Valley Provinces through the implementation of an integrated early recovery support project. In particular, the project has the following objectives: 1. To clear vegetative debris in 50 barangays in Davao Oriental in order to facilitate the preparation of the land for agricultural production; 2. To provide comprehensive debris management including the recovery of recyclable materials and safe final disposal of both typhoon and domestic waste 3. To provide affected and vulnerable communities with emergency livelihood activities and medium term livelihood options via recycling of typhoon debris; 4. To enhance community resiliency through mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) into early recovery interventions to reduce vulnerability and sense of insecurity, unity and community self-help.
