Tropical Storm Washi: to support disaster and climate risk management including hazard and risk/vulnerability assessment in particular to assess climate/disaster risk vulnerabilities of Cagayan de Oro (CDO) and Iligan cities, including all the municipalities around the CDO and Mandulog river basins; implement priority climate/disaster risk mitigation actions; mainstream climate and disaster risk management in local land use/development plans and regulatory processes; enhance socio-economic resilience of the poor and most vulnerable in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities, and establish local knowledge management system for communities around the CDO and Mandulog river basins. This work will be sequenced and fast-tracked to inform relocation and the “climate/disaster proofing” of the longer-term reconstruction plans that will be developed over coming months (resources are being channeled to UNDP outside of the CAP and through a regular donor cost sharing arrangement with UNDP.)
